Namco (or Namco Bandai as they're now known, after their merger) have long been one of the PlayStation's most ardent supporters, with many of their key series such as Ridge Racer, Tekken and Ace Combat being synonymous with Sony's consoles even when they do appear on other formats. Time Crisis is another classic series to be added to the list and while the original arcade version has been out for a while now, like previous home console adaptations this adds a whole raft of new features on top of it. As a start though all the levels from the coin-op are here, with the same wide range of different weapons to use - from machine guns to shotguns and rocket launchers. Also featured is an evolution of the feature in PS one only game Time Crisis: Project Titan, which expands the series' signature duck and cover feature to allow you to switch hiding places in certain situations. Because older lightguns don't work on modern television Time Crisis 4 comes bundled with the all new GunCon 3 controller, which uses two infrared LED markers placed on either side of your television. Working in a similar manner to the Wii this ensures compatibility with any kind of television as well as the utmost accuracy. The GunCon 3 also features an analogue stick so that you can control the game in five new first person shoot `em-up levels which are interspersed amongst the original levels and make this the most innovative entry in the series yet.
